remarks on Monday at the start of a nuclear security summit in Seoul,
South Korea. But one year after the disaster at Japan’s Fukushima
Daiichi reactor complex, concerns about the safety of nuclear power
linger on. Some activists, though, say there is no form of safe nuclear
power.
Speaking at a South Korean university, Obama said the
peaceful uses of nuclear energy bring many benefits. He pointed to
advances in medicine and science, and said nuclear power is a
comparatively clean and affordable means of energy production.
His
views are shared by other leaders attending this week’s global Nuclear
Security Summit, including South Korean President Lee Myung-bak. South
Korea is emerging as a nuclear power exporter and is building reactors
in the United Arab Emirates.
But some activists say the summit is
not promoting security at all. Instead, they claim, it’s goal is to
make more money for the nuclear industry.
Park Jung-eun is with
the Seoul-based People’s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy, a civic
group that is protesting the international forum.
Park said last
year saw the destruction of the nuclear power plant at Fukushima. She
said nuclear material is very dangerous for all people around the world.

THIS DIY GATHERING IS BEING HELD AT THE OLD PEACE CAMP @NV TEST SITE, ACROSS FROM THE TUNNELS,. EXIT AT THE MERCURY EXIT COMING FROM LAS , VEGAS. IF COMING FM LAS VEGAS, BE SURE THAT YOU DON'T GO TO THE MAIN GATES, BUT AFTER ROAD STRAIGHTENS OUT, PULL OVER, STOP & DO A 180 TURN, THIS WILL TAKE YOU TO OUR PEACE CAMP.
So we need a count of Folks at this DIY Gathering. This DIY gathering, the 25th Anniversary of On Going Peace Camp held April 6th-9th @ the Original sight of the On Going Peace Camp. We have the Big Tent from the Goddess Temple ; Our beloved Brother, Willie Willie is going to conduct Sunrise Ceremony, for us. This is the only planned activity, so drag your weary bones to the sound of the Drum. Our Passed Over Brother Corbin will be watching...
The focus of this Gathering is the Early Residents of the On Going Peace Camp, started by Art Casey, 25 years ago, during the NDE Lenten Experience. All are welcome to this DIY gathering, bring what you need & some to share. Water is the most needed thing, so bring enough to cover your self & some to share. (there is a rumor of a Water Trailer appearing :}) Water can be gotten at the Goddess Temple, 16 miles away in Cactus Springs. Ask for Candace Ross for permission to get water, FIRST. This may have been taken care of, but respect out Mother Earth & it's Water...
There is a rumor of some sleeping spaces for Elder Women inside at Cactus Springs, Goddess Temple(Ask for Candace Ross) & outside space for men.THIS IS JUST A RUMOR! There is NO PLANNED KITCHEN! WE NEED A OR 2 SLEDGEHAMMERS TO SET UP THE BIG TENT & WILLING HANDS TO HELP OUT.
We can also use a big table for Water containers 2 1/2 gal & 5 gallon containers, shovels & rakes to clean up old Peace Camp. Help those less fortunate than yourself & everything is going be all right. Remember that NDE Sacred Peace Walk will be ending at the same time Our Gathering, starts. BE RESPECTABLE TO ALL...
For those late nighters, John Owens is bring a pick up, so we may need axes or a chain saw to go back towards Las Vegas, to gather Wood. We Need 5&6 Gallon buckets for Dish Washing, Dr. Bronner's Soap,Scrubbers and bleach. We need four buckets, one for compost, one for First Dirty Wash (No Soap), Hot Water & soap for real Wash & cold Water & Bleach for the rinse. Take your Dishes with you or they may grow legs. ALSO NEED HELPING HANDS TO WATCH DISH WASH STATION ; TO BURY COMPOST, PLEASE...

Greetings, welcome to the latest RUMOR mill about the 2012 NTS Peace Camp Reunion
Johnnie Bob, Member of Western Shoshone National Member will be at Peace Camp to welcome walkers, from Sacred Peace Walk,2012. Las Vegas to Creech AFB, Home of the Drones and then on to NTS (NNSSS) Peace Camp. Where we want have NTS Peace Camp Reunion, 25th Anniversary . The dates we want April 7-11th, 2012. This is message that I sent last time we communicated. I asked NDE to contact Western Shoshone Council about extending Lent Program to accompany 4 day Peace Camp Reunion.
Jim Habber of NDE, though that it could happen, it looks like a NDE sponsored(?/or not) Peace Camp Reunion in 2012 is going to be possible. By piggyback on the Massive April 12th celebration, we would be able to let the world know of your plans, that to make possible in 2012.
